Ruto Held A Late Night Meeting With The 24 MCAs Who Impeached Me- Ann Waiguru Blames Ruto For Her Troubles

Embattled Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru has blamed Deputy President over troubles in managing Kirinyaga county.

Waiguru said that she has intelligence that the 24 MCAs who slept at the county assembly met with Deputy President allies and schemed his  removal from office,

“We have reports that Ruto met some MCAs to plot all these. We have all the information with us, we know that Ruto fears my rising influence in Mt. kenya.” She said

23 members of the county assembly out of 33 voted in support of Governor Waiguru’s impeachment.

The motion will then be tabled to the Senate where the fate of the ousted Governor will be impeached.

The senate will now act as the last comfort for the embattled Governor who has been linked to NYS corruption scandal.

Early this year the Senate Impeached Ex Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu over misconduct and corruption allegations labelled against him.

Drama ensued for a better part of the day even as the MCAs were discussing and voting on the motion.

Two MCAs were seen being dragged outside the chambers by the sergeant at arms after a heated confrontation with their colleagues..

The two were Karumandi MCA Anthony Munene and nominated MCA Lucy Njeri.

They claimed that their signatures were forged and were not ready to impeach embattled Waiguru.

“This is not a Kangaroo assembly. How come people are forging our signatures. I am not removing the governor. And when you raise your point you are thrown out,” one of them was heard saying.

The woman MCA was also seen being dragged outside the gates as she shouted.

This was meant to avoid any coercion and intimidation before Waiguru slated impeachment today Tuesday at the Kirinyaga county assembly.

The defiant MCAs further switched off their phone to ensure that their plans to impeach Waiguru went on as planned.

The impeachment motion set to be debated today was filed by Mutira Ward MCA David Kinyua.

The MCAs have accused Waiguru of deliberately failing to submit county plans and policies to the County Assembly for approval. She was also blamed for intentionally failing to issue the State of the County Address.
Governor Waiguru had earlier on rubbished the impeachment motion, saying that there is a court order barring her ouster still in place.
In a statement to the newsrooms in the morning, the embattled governor said she obtained an injunction stopping the ouster until her case was determined and proceeding with the motion will be in contempt of the court.
Waiguru was making reference to a High Court rulling on April 7 that temporarily stopped the impeachment, citing the current coronavirus pandemic. Justice Weldon Korir ruled that proceedings against the governor during the Covid-19 crisis was likely to violate her rights to fair administrative action. She said she would sue the Speaker and those participating in the motion for contempt of court orders.
